National Arboretum

The National Arboretum is located in Northeast Washington D.C. and consists of 446 acres. It was too massive to visit in one day, so I focused mainly on the Asian collections and the exquisite bonsai exhibit. I had never seen so many bonsai trees in one place before. I don’t know if the trees appreciate being kept small, but they do at the very least make for beautiful works of art, and I know that it’s quite a task to maintain healthy bonsai trees. Most of the photos below focus on the bonsai exhibit, though many more were taken. Photos taken in August 2025.
